Wanted: Movie Screenplays...

Promoting your screenplay
If you haven't found an agent or a manager yet, don't worry. There are some companies out there that post movie screenplays wanted sections. Inktip.com is one company that provides weekly listings of companies, producers and agents looking for new screenplays. Sometimes, a company is only looking for writers for a certain region such as the UK or Canada . A listing on Inktip may look something like this:

Company A

I am looking for a broad comedy centered around teenagers on a road trip. Something in the vein of “Road Trip”, “National Lampoons Vacation” or “Dude, Who Stole My Car” would be perfect. I would like the characters to be of Latino-American origin, but I will consider all ethnic origins.

WGA or NON-WGA writers welcome.

The WGA stands for Writers Guild of America members. Sometimes, a company or producer will only look for WGA screenwriters or writers who have previously optioned or sold material.

I'm sure there are other companies out there, but inktip seems to be gaining the most momentum. Other sites you might want to check out are Project Greenlight's site as well as triggerstreet.com. Are any of these right for you? Maybe, maybe not, but it's worth taking a peak.

Even if you find a solid manager or agent, you may have to market your script on your own. It's always good to look around and see who is actively searching for screenplays. There is no set model for how to sell a screenplay, so keep searching until you find the method that works for you..

If you would like to see which projects are selling from day to day, go to scriptsales.com for more info.
