Fortunately, for a minimal cost, you can buy screenplay software to do all the work for you. This will be one of your best investments as a screenwriter, because it will allow you concentrate on what's important: writing a screenplay.
There are many screenwriting software packages available to the budding screenwriter. Some folks use Movie Magic or Sophocles. We cannot vouch for those programs, but we can recommend Final Draft. It is smooth and very user-friendly. Many screenwriters we've talked to prefer Final Draft for these reasons.
If you've already finished a screenplay and need to place it in proper format, don't worry. Most screenplay software packages import finished scripts into their programs and properly format your script for you.
